Our story

About TruCam Ultimate Support

A youth-founded and led non-profit organisation transforming education and empowering communities in Limpopo since 2018.

Background

Bridging socio-economic gaps through education

Trucam Ultimate Support (TruCam) is a non-profit organisation established in 2018 and formally registered with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission on 31 October 2019, and with the Department of Social Development on 15 April 2021.

TruCam implements educational projects to uplift the livelihoods of young people and bridge socio-economic gaps through sustainable development initiatives.

Our mandate is anchored on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4): Quality Education, promoting access to equitable, quality education and skills development opportunities across the Limpopo Province. The organisation is made up of passionate young people from diverse backgrounds, including students, graduates and community stakeholders, united by a shared purpose of transforming education and empowering communities.

Our journey

  1. 2018
    TruCam is founded by young people in Sekgosese, Limpopo.
  2. 2019
    Registered with CIPC (31 October) and the first Miss Sekgosese pageant is crowned.
  3. 2020
    Nutriture food parcels support families through COVID-19.
  4. 2021
    Registered as an NPO with the Department of Social Development (15 April).
  5. 2023
    Sekgosese East Career Exhibition and the launch of Face of Mopani.
  6. 2024–25
    Founder recognised as an M&G Top 200 Young South African and Sunday World Unsung Hero.

Governance structure

Accountable leadership

The Board of TruCam consists of three (3) Office Bearers, with the Chairperson as head of the Board. The Board sets the strategic tone of the organisation, manages its structure and oversees its formal administration. The Board retains responsibility and remains accountable to the founders.

The Board is also responsible for setting out a year plan and ensuring that all year plans are carried out. The Secretary General maintains all Board records and ensures their accuracy and safety.
